Hey y'all!

2015 has been a heck of a year with lots of touring and prepping to release a new album next spring (more info to come on that in January)! I have a few more shows left in the next couple of weeks to close out the year, and I hope to see y'all there (or online on December 20th)!

SUMMER TOUR RECAP, PART 4: BACK TO TEXAS

As epic as this tour was, it's always good to get back home to Texas! We saw lots of family and good friends on this last leg, which is what it's all about.

The first in-state stop was Chuck's hometown of Amarillo. We stayed with two of his best buddies, Brandon King and Angie DeWitt, and we had dinner at his sister Jonnie's house for the best dang cabbage tacos and scotchies this side of Abilene (trust). Then we played to a packed hometown crowd at Leftwoods on Route 66, which was a blast!

Next we headed…Read more

SUMMER TOUR RECAP, PART 3: THE MOUNTAIN WEST

I'm not gonna lie, y'all. This was the leg of the trip I was most looking forward to! Spending most of July  in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico is pretty dang sweet. Cool weather, cool people.

As we crossed the border from North Dakota to Montana, we blasted the John Denver (Chuck's fave) & Emmylou Harris (my fave) version of Wild Montana Sky. We were really fired up even though there weren't any of the big mountains in sight for a few hundred miles! We stayed the night at Montana songwriter GT…Read more

SUMMER TOUR RECAP, PART 2: THE MIDWEST

The second leg of my big summer tour with Chuck Hawthorne took us through a part of the country I honestly haven't spent much time in, the Midwest. From Nashville, we headed north through Kentucky and Illinois to St. Louis, Missouri, where we had a fantastically fun show at a cool venue called 1900 Park, which is an art gallery and creative space in a really cool historic neighborhood. My high school buddy, Michael Lourie, surprised me by coming to the show, and we had a great time with the crew that Chuck's…Read more

SUMMER TOUR RECAP, PART 1: THE SOUTHEAST

I spent most of the summer on the road with my pup Bridget and amazing singer-songwriter, Chuck Hawthorne. We toured for 7 weeks, traveling across 19 states, playing 22 shows in 11 states, and crossing the Continental Divide approximately 2 dozen times. We even had a week vacation midway through in Jackson Hole, Wyoming! It was a blast!
Chuck recently released his debut album, Silver Line, which has been getting some serious critical acclaim and radio play. The record hit #2 on the FAR chart, #17 on the… Read more

MEMORIAL DAY WITH EMMYLOU & RODNEY!

(This is what I posted on Facebook about my crazy Memorial Day weekend...follow me at www.facebook.com/libbykochmusic!)

Okay so here's the story! I was staying at the Y.O. Hotel in Kerrville for Memorial Day weekend to attend the Kerrville Folk Festival on Saturday and play at my friends Mason & Rochelle Hunt's wedding brunch on Sunday in Bandera. Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell were scheduled to headline the Festival that night, and I was beyond excited to see them live.

I went out to the Festival early…

TENNESSEE COLONY ONE OF HOUSTON PRESS'S 10 BEST FOR 2014!

The Houston Press named Libby's album Tennessee Colony one of Houston's top ten records of the year!

Music Editor Chris Gray says "Libby Koch may have set this album in the tiny East Texas settlement near Palestine where her ancestors settled in the days of William B. Travis, but the lively arrangements -- a frisky blend of country, folk, bluegrass and gospel set to some mighty fine fiddle, banjo and mandolin -- not only make Tennessee Colony sound daisy-fresh, but the rare acoustic-based album that truly…Read more

  • Bridget and I are dropping off the grid for a few days to catch up on several fronts. Well, we are kinda off the grid...cell service is a lot better here than it used to be! I have mixed feelings about that.
